Maths Open Day

Thank you to all those who attended our maths Open day on 23rd March. It was a great opportunity to show our school in action and to allow us to explain some of the mysteries which surrounds some of our teaching methods nowadays.

The great family challenge caused great amusement and there were some ingenious ways of recording the height of your family. The winning entry was won by the Gibson family for their creative idea.

The adult challenge proved just that. Thank you for your efforts. Twenty five people entered with eleven successfully completing it accurately. The winning entry was drawn from a hat. If you would like a copy of the answers these can be obtained from the office.

Year Five County Maths Challenge Competition

This is the second year we have entered a team for the Year Five County Maths Challenge. Seventy two teams across the county compete against each other in local heats, with a grand final for all the winning teams. It was a very exciting competition at our school with different teams juggling to take the lead. We gained fourth place but it was very close at the end with only one or two points difference between teams. Well done to our Year Fives who received a special certificate for their efforts.
